The Killeen Arts and Activity Center was the place to be on Sunday for some mellow gospel jazz and a tribute to the 9/11 dead. The monthly event, featuring local artists, singers and musicians, began the afternoon with a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner sung by Teresa Stensin.
“Are there any first responders, firefighters, police or emergency personnel present,” Roland Stewart, MC for the event asked. He pointed out that so many 9/11 heroes also died that day. He asked for a moment of silence and then began to read some of the statistics from that horrible day in his notes.
