DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA – Douglas County will finally celebrate the completion of its all-new 30,000 square foot multi-purpose facility with a ribbon cut this Friday, county officials announced last week, and the public is invited.

The new $ 7.5 million center, called the Boundary Waters Activity Center, is located at 4996 Highway 92 / Highway 166 – next to the Boundary Waters Aquatic Center – and was the largest construction project in the sales tax program. optional local special purpose 2016 approved by voters. .

According to Douglas County Commissioner Kelly Robinson, this is also the completion of the county’s 20-year dream of creating a 500-acre mega-complex and eight parks along the Chattahoochee River. The new center features two full-size regulation basketball courts, an exercise room, weight room, multi-purpose room and an elevated running track, among other amenities.
