Webster Groves Adult Activity Center offers a variety of programs | Webster Kirkwood Times

A recent exercise class was held at the Webster Groves Adult Activity Center, located in the town’s recreation complex at 33 E. Glendale Road.

Programs for those 55 and older await at the Webster Groves Adult Activity Center.

Webster Groves Parks and Recreation Superintendent Miki McKee Koelsch said an annual membership to the adult activity center costs $ 10, which allows participants to qualify for member rates for individual programs. The center is located in the Webster Groves Recreation Complex, located at 33 E. Glendale Road, adjacent to Memorial Park.

“Through the Silver Sneakers and (Medicare) Renew Active programs, anyone aged 65 and over can get a free membership if the fitness programs are covered by their health plan,” said McKee Koelsch.

She said the breakfast bingo is held at the Webster Groves Recreation Complex every first Thursday of the month from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm Pre-registration is required.

Continuous classes at the Adult Activity Center include bridge lessons every Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., country line dancing Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m., pickleball (intermediate / advanced level) Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. at 10 a.m., pickleball (beginner / intermediate level) Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and pickleball (intermediate / advanced level) Sundays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Doubles bridge (competitive) takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, and party bridge is played on Wednesdays from 10 am to noon.

When it comes to fitness classes, seniors can enroll in a variety of options such as the cardio combo, chair yoga, silver yoga, mental and body core and more, the bar. ‘silver, the “ballates” made with exercise balls or the Choga By Laure Sears, a certified yoga. therapist who designed the course specifically for people with Parkinson’s disease.

Fitness showcase

On January 8, staff at the Webster Groves Fitness Center will be hosting a Fitness Showcase from 8 a.m. to noon. That morning, attendees can tour the facility, take free workouts for ages 16 and up, get free blood pressure screenings from physiotherapy professionals at SSM Health, have healthy snacks, hear guest speakers; and meet the centre’s coaches and fitness trainers. The event also includes class demonstrations, prizes and raffles.
